Groceries on Amazon?.. REALLY?

I know it sounds kind of convenient to have it delivered right to your door step but how do you know it's fresh? Or that the cereal hasn't already expired? Does the same apply to when you get groceries delivered from Safeway?

I just want to see what people have to say about this. :) I find it interesting to order groceries off the internet. Lazy? Or just extremely busy?

You tell me.

  1. I totally ordered groceries on the internet! I ordered from safeway so i can't speak for Amazon, but the groceries come from their local on hand inventory. Everything was fresh and I could specify substitutions for things in case they were out.
The downside was that they were out of a couple things so I just didn't get them. When you're at the store you could just get something else, but if I didn't specify a substite, I just didn't get it.

I did it because i was so tired of running around every day. I have one day off I didn't want to go shopping. Call that lazy or busy. Either way, it's super convenient as long as you don't mind having to be home in a certain time window and ordering your groceries one or two days before you plan to have them delivered.

  2. I've had a friend order them from Safeway! We don't usually shop there because they're a bit on the expensive side & we can just go to WinCo a little closer but if my job was more hectic, I'd probably do it, too. Especially from a local store..

Amazon, though? I mean, where do they get their food from? Are people just buying bulk then putting it up for sale online?
